Project History

The City of Brooklyn Center’s Capital Improvement Plan identified a potential street improvement project in this neighborhood. This project was scheduled for 2022. A feasibility study was undertaken to evaluate the need for the project and estimated cost of reconstructing the streets and utilities. A survey crew was in the neighborhood over the summer months collecting data. A neighborhood meeting was scheduled on September 16, 2021, to gather additional information and solicit input from neighborhood residents.

On September 27, 2021, the City Council accepted the City Engineer's Feasibility Report, declared costs to be assessed and called for an improvement public hearing on October 25, 2021. Property owners were mailed a letter detailing the project and special assessment information together with Notice of Public Hearing and a feasibility summary.

The improvement public hearing on October 25, 2021 was held regarding ordering improvements and authorizing preparation of plans and specifications.

On November 8, 2021, the City Council declared certain project costs to be assessed for the Woodbine Area Street Improvements and called for a public hearing on the proposed special assessments to be held on December 13, 2021. All potentially affected property owners will be notified by mail of the date of the assessment public hearing and the amount of proposed special assessments.
