Brooklyn Center requires the licensing of 3.2 percent malt liquor establishments as defined in Chapter 11 of its City Code. The license period is the calendar year January 1 through December 31.

On-Sale licenses shall be granted only to restaurants, clubs, or hotels where food is prepared and served for consumption on the premises or to the City of Brooklyn Center for City facilities and events.

Off-Sale licenses shall permit the sale of 3.2 percent malt liquor in its original package for consumption off the licensed premises only.

Hours and Days of Sale
No sale of 3.2 percent malt liquor may be made between 1:00 am and 8:00 am on the days of Monday through Saturday, nor between 1:00 am and 10:00 am on Sunday (Minnesota Statute 340A.504). Extended sales until 2:00 am are effective until July 1, 2018.
