State Law mandates that all communities within the seven-county metropolitan area prepare and update their local comprehensive plan every 10 years.  Brooklyn Center’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan update establishes a vision and guidance for future community growth over the next two decades (2020 through 2040). The 2040 Comprehensive Plan identifies future land use designations, housing goals, likely redevelopment areas, and goals for increasing and strengthening economic stability within the community.  The Plan also provides a practical guide for identifying key and important investment opportunities in City services, such as natural resources, parks and trails, recreation areas, transportation and transit, and water resources.
